State of the city report set-A A +A
Sunday, January 27, 2013
THE three top elected officials of Zamboanga City are set to report to the Zamboangueños their accomplishments they made last year in the annual state of the city report on Monday.
This year's state of the city report will be held at the newly inaugurated multi-purpose hall inside the Paseo del Mar leisure park, as the repair of the City Council building has not yet been completed and the city library where the councilors temporarily hold office and session is too small to accommodate invited guests and visitors.
Mayor Celso Lobregat, House Deputy Speaker and first district Representative Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar and second district Representative Erico Basilio Fabian will report their accomplishments in the yearly event organized by the City Council, with Vice Mayor Cesar Ituralde playing host.
However, this year's state of the city report draws special interest from many than the previous ones, as this will be the last report rendered out by the three officials in their present capacities and positions.
Fabian and Lobregat are both on their last term of office, while Salazar still has a three-year term. The three also used to serve as the formidable political triumvirate of Zamboanga City.
The triumvirate, however, has broken with Fabian, and Salazar will slug it out for the mayor, while Lobregat will seek election in the first district.
Top city officials, regional government heads, the police and military top brass in Zamboanga City and the region are invited to grace the event, along with top business and civic leaders. (Bong Garcia)
