GUNMEN killed an unemployed man in an east coast village in Zamboanga City, a police official said on Monday.
Police Station 6 commander Chief Inspector Elmer Acuña said the incident took place around 1 a.m. Monday in Logoy Grande, Talon-Talon village, five kilometers east of the city.
Acuña identified the fatality as Dominic Vargas, who succumbed to a bullet wound in the stomach.
Investigation showed Vargas was on his way home when the suspects surfaced and shot the victim without any provocation, he said.
The responding policemen recovered an empty shell of a caliber .45 pistol from the crime scene, added Acuna.
Investigation continues to unmask the suspects. (Bong Garcia)
