Mentally-ill man beheads sister

A MAN with mental disorder beheaded his older sister, who also has the same sickness, in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, a police official said Tuesday.

Zamboanga Peninsula police spokesman Senior Superintendent Nelson Eucogco said the incident took place around 6:30 a.m. Monday in the village of Poblacion Bajo, Sergio Osmeña town.

Eucogco identified the victim as Rodelia Constantino, 43, who was allegedly beheaded by her younger brother, Rodolfo Jimenez.

Before the incident, Jimenez confronted his other elder sister, Lilibeth Constantino, when he saw the latter scolded her children, Eucogco said.

The suspect, who got angry, went home after he was ignored. The suspect then grabbed a bolo and hacked the victim, who he saw lying in bed, said Eucogco.

Responding policemen arrested and detained the suspect. (Bong Garcia)
