Gunmen shoot merchants

TWO merchants have survived a gun attack although wounded in an east coast village in Zamboanga City, the police reported.
The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) said the incident took place around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday in Barangay Putik, 4.6 kilometers east of the city.
The victims were identified as Jeffrey Yunsay and Erlito Salud, both residents of Cabaluay village. Both sustained bullet wounds and were admitted at the hospital, the police added.
Investigation showed the victims were aboard a multicab when the suspects riding tandem in a motorcycle got abreast and opened fire.
The victims were on the way to the abattoir when the incident happened, the police said.
