Police ready campaign security plan

THE local police have prepared a campaign security plan to ensure the protection of candidates as the campaign period for the May 13, 2013 elections nears.
Zamboanga City police officer-in-charge Edwin de Ocampo said all police stations already abreast of their respective tasks for the campaign period.
Senior Superintendent De Ocampo’s command has a total of 11 police stations from the city’s west coast to the boundary of Zamboanga del Norte and to the east coast to the boundary of Zamboanga Sibugay.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that the campaign period for senatorial and party-list candidates will start February 12 until May 11.
The campaign period for the local candidates will start March 29 until May 11, the Comelec added.
De Ocampo said the campaign security plant will be implemented in coordination with the military’s Task Force Zamboanga. (Bong Garcia)
