Cheer dance competition ushers Charter Day

CHEER dance competition will usher the celebration of the 76th Dia de Zamboanga (Charter Day) celebration.
The competition, which is a mainstay in the Charter Day anniversary celebration, is open to all secondary and tertiary quads.
The competition, which is organized by the City Government, will be held on February 21 at the Mayor Vitaliano Agan.
The deadline for the submission of entries will be Friday morning, February 15.
A meeting of all interested school quads will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the City Tourism Office in Paseo del Mar to discuss in detail the guidelines and other rules and regulations.
The contest is open to any performance which can include a dance, acrobatic stunts, or the use of indigenous or native instruments.
The criteria for judging include: synchronization, 35 percent; artistry/choreography and style, 35 percent; costume, 10 percent; and, acrobatic skills, 20 percent. (Bong Garcia)
