POLICEMEN rescued Friday four fishermen who were drifting for three days offshore Zamboanga del Norte, said Zamboanga Peninsula police spokesman Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca.
The fishermen were identified as Emmanuel Tingoban, 28, Raymond Puson, 21, Jason Mordilla, 16, and Ray Tampos, 22, all residents of Olingan village, Dipolog City.
They were rescued around 11:30 a.m. in Bayangan Island, Labason municipality, Huesca said.
He said the four went on a fishing venture Tuesday of last week but failed to return since then.
The rescued fishermen told the police that they drifted at sea after the engine of their motorized banca conked out.
Fortunately, they drifted toward Bayangan Island, where they were safely found by the policemen who were sent to search for them, said Huesca.
