Militiaman kills detachment commander

AN ARMY detachment commander was shot and killed by a militiaman in a remote village in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, a police official disclosed Friday.
Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, Zamboanga Peninsula police spokesman, said the incident took place around 7 p.m. Thursday in the village of Baganian, Tabina municipality.
Huesca identified the fatality as Master Sergeant (MSgt.) Jesussimo Baroa, the detachment commander in Baganian village.
Baroa was allegedly shot and killed with the used of Caliber .30 M1 Garand Rifle by Leonardo Dayuha, member of government militia force.
A manhunt operation was launched to arrest the suspect who fled and went into hiding after the incident, Huesca said. (Bong Garcia)
