AN ABU Sayyaf bandit who carries a P1.3-million bounty was placed under hospital arrest in Zamboanga City, a police official disclosed Thursday.
The police, who were armed with warrant of arrest, swooped down a private hospital here and arrested the bandit, who was undergoing medication for heart ailment.
Zamboanga Peninsula police spokesman Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca identified the arrested bandit as Mujinar Cabalo, who has the aliases of Mujin Kabala, Aman Kabalu, Ramin and Rahim.
Huesca said that Cabalo, a resident of Basilan, was arrested by policemen around 9:02 p.m. of Monday at a private hospital along Mayor Vitaliano Agan Avenue, Zamboanga City.
Cabalo was nabbed on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trail Court (RTC) Branch 23 Judge Rogelio Narisma of Kidapawan City, Huesca said.
He said the arrested bandit faces criminal charges for murder, multiple frustrated murder and multiple attempted murder with a monetary reward of P1.3 million for his arrest.
He said policemen were deployed to watch Cabalo to prevent him from escaping from the hospital.
