Two killed in Sumisip gun attack

TWO people, including a child, were killed in an attack by lawless elements in a remote village in Basilan province, the police said Saturday.
The Basilan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) reported that the incident took place around 7:40 p.m. Friday at Sitio Birahan, Upper Benembengan village, Sumisip town.
The police identified the fatalities as Basid Akalon alias Kannong and the other one is a five-year-old girl, whose identity was not immediately known.
Initial investigation showed the victims were inside their residence when some 10 gunmen allegedly led by Radzmil Janatul arrived and without any provocation, opened fire hitting the victims, the police said.
The motive of the incident was believed to be personal grudge, the police said.
