Mom kills own son

A 31-YEAR-OLD housewife was arrested by authorities after she allegedly killed her three years old son in a remote village in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Sunday.

Senior Inspector Chamer Lacay, officer-in-charge of the Labason municipal police station, identified the arrested housewife as Emie Partosa, a resident of Gil Sanchez village, Labason town.

Lacay said Partosa was nabbed around 9:15 p.m. Thursday after it was discovered that she killed her own three-year-old son by hitting the victim in the head with a glass. She also used a blunt instrument in beating the child.

Lacay formed a composite team comprising of policemen, health personnel and social workers and proceeded to the village of Gil Sanchez upon receiving report about a parricide incident.

“Upon arrival, the team found a lifeless minor lying on the floor inside their house,” Lacay said.

Post mortem examination conducted by Labason Municipal Health Officer Dr. Fe Claire Buctuan showed the victim succumbed to hemorrhage, he said.

The incident took place around 1 p.m. Thursday inside the suspect’s residence and was witnessed by the victim’s siblings, he added.

The suspect was detained at Labason municipal police station and appropriation charges are set to be filed against her, Lacay added. (Bong Garcia)
