ONE of the three people who ganged up a “balut” vendor ended up in the hospital after he was stabbed during the melee in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, a police official said Thursday.
Police Station 3 commander Senior Inspector Noel Lozano said the incident took place around 5 p.m. Tuesday at Purok 4, Sangali village, 25 kilometers east of the city.
Lozano identified the victim as Eric Rebollos, 30, a resident of Manicahan village, east of the city.
Rebollos’ was allegedly stabbed by Rogelio Rojas, a balut vendor and a resident of Bolong village, Lozano said.
Investigation showed Rojas was on his way to sell balut when Rebollos and three others who were having a drinking spree mauled the suspect, he said.
In the process, he said Rojas pulled out his knife and stabbed Rebollos.
Rebollos was rushed to the hospital for treatment while Rojas escaped, he added.
