THE Department of Education (DepEd) and the City Government will inaugurate on Wednesday some P30-million worth of school building projects in Zamboanga City.
The school building is funded by the local government.
The P21-million worth two-storey building with 24 classrooms will be built in Catalina Vda. De Jalon Memorial School in Tumaga, while the P8.89-million worth two-storey building with eight classrooms will be built in Lunzuran Elementary School.
Mayor Celso Lobregat said the inauguration and turnover of the two projects will take place one after the other immediately upon the arrival of Luistro from Manila on Wednesday.
Lobregat said the two school building projects form part of the P1.3-billion investment that the City Government has placed on education in the last six years.
Lobregat has assured continuous support and assistance to education in line with the City Development Strategy and the 17-point agenda of the present administration.
Lobregat added that more school building projects are expected to be inaugurated and turned over soon. (Bong Garcia)
