Zamboanga unveils P13.6-M projects

MAYOR Celso Lobregat, accompanied by some City Government officials, led Sunday the unveiling of P13.6 million worth of infrastructure projects in three far-flung villages in Zamboanga City.
The newly-completed projects and the beneficiary-villages are the following: Sapa Moro-Lunday road Latuan, P6.8 million; covered court in Buenavista, P2.7 million; and Village Hall in Sibulao, P4.1 million.
The villages of Latuan, Buenavista and Sibulao are located 52.8, 54, and 63 kilometers, respectively, east of the city.
Lobregat said the implementation of the projects is a fulfillment of the City Government's commitment under his administration to continuously support and assist the villages regardless of the location and distance.
Lobregat was accompanied by Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde, some members of the City Council, and City Engineer Luis Despalo, when he led the inauguration of the three infrastructure projects.
"These projects encompass all sectors and aspects and a spread out in this city's 98 barangays," Lobregat added, citing it forms part of the 3,833 projects worth P5.4 billion that his administration has completed, ongoing and under bidding process for the past five years.
The inauguration of the three projects Sunday came five days after the City Government inaugurated more than P30 million worth of school building projects located in Tumaga and Lunzuran villages located 4.3 kilometers northeast and 7.3 kilometers east of the city.
