6 hurt in motorcycle-tricycle collision

SIX people, including two drivers, were injured in a motorcycle-tricycle collision in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Monday.
The Dapitan City police, in its report, identified the victims as Irfo Guillena, Jaime Ruiz, Darwin Bagabuyo, Romeo Obligado, Rona Bael, and Jean Love Bando.
The police said the collision took place around 6:30 p.m. Sunday along Oyan National Highway, Dapitan City.
Investigation showed the collision happened when Ruiz, who was driving a tricycle, swerved to the left lane of the road to avoid a warning signboard while en route to the village of Ilaya coming from Dapitan City.
Guillena, who was driving a motorcycle, was traveling on the opposite direction since he was bound for Pulawan Wharf, Dapitan City, coming from Plaridel, Misamis Occidental.
Obligado, Bael, and Bando, who sustained minor injuries, were passengers of Ruiz, while Bagabuyo was the back rider of Guillena.
All of them were rushed to the Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The police said Ruiz is in hot water since he was driving without license and unregistered tricycle. (Bong Garcia)
