Mayor’s house caretaker found dead

AN INVESTIGATION is underway to determine whether there was a foul play in the death of a town mayor’s house caretaker in the province of Zamboanga del Sur.

Zamboanga Peninsula police spokesman Ariel Huesca said Wednesday the probe aims to determine the real cause of the death of Crispina Ong, 62, who is the caretaker of Kumalarang Mayor Allan Damas’ house located in Barangay Tiguma, Pagadian City, Chief Inspector Huesca said.

Huesca said Ong was found dead by her live-in partner, Efren Salvador, 53, around 8:15 a.m. Monday.

Salvador, who is one of Damas’ security escorts, said he then reported to the police after he found Ong dead.

The city health officer of Pagadian City, who conducted ocular inspection when Ong’s remains were retrieved from Damas’ residence, has yet to release his findings, the police said.
