Gunmen shoot village official-A A +A

A VILLAGE official was shot and wounded by riding-in-tandem gunmen in the nearby province of Zamboanga Sibugay, a police official said Friday.
Zamboanga Peninsula police spokesman Ariel Huesca said the incident happened around 3:35 p.m. Thursday along the national highway of Pangi village, Ipil municipality.
Chief Inspector Huesca identified the victim as Montasir Singa, 40, a village councilor of Villa in the municipality of Alicia.
Investigation showed the victim was driving his motorcycle when two men riding tandem on another motorcycle opened fire.
The motive of the incident could be personal grudge since the personal belongings of the victim, including his motorcycle were untouched by the suspects, Huesca said.
Investigation continues to unmask the suspects.
