Gun attack hurts village official, 2 unscathed-A A +A

A VILLAGE official was wounded while two others escaped unscathed in a gun attack in a remote village of Zamboanga del Sur province, police reported Sunday.
The Zamboanga del Sur Police Office (ZDSPO) reported that the incident took place around 11:45 a.m. Saturday in the village of Libertad, Dumingag municipality.
Wounded in the gun attack was Tata Borgonia, a village councilman of Lower Timonan, Dumingag. He sustained gunshot wounds in his body and was hospitalized.
The identities of Borgonia's two companions who were unscathed were not immediately available.
Investigation showed that Borgonia was driving a motorcycle with two back riders when they were shot by a riding in tandem who was tailing them along the highway of Libertad village.
Investigation continues in a bid to establish the motive of the incident as well as the culprits, the police said.
