A TOTAL of 17 beneficiaries from different villages have received livelihood assistance from the Zamboanga City Government through the Self Employment Assistance (Sea) program.
The livelihood assistance, ranging from P3,000 to P5,000 per beneficiary, was personally distributed by Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco Salazar on Tuesday. It is aimed to encourage the beneficiaries to engage in entrepreneurial endeavors and sustain small business ventures.
Darick Fabian, welfare division chief of City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), said the recipients intend to use the funds in buy-and-sell of vegetables, rice and charcoal and other income-generating projects.
The livelihood assistance amounting to a total of P67,000 is interest and collateral free and is payable within 10 to 12 months.
Fabian said the payments of the loan sustain the city’s SEA program because they are used as revolving funds to grant loans to other qualified beneficiaries. (Bong Garcia)
