THE Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm) shipped relief goods on Monday for about 950 families displaced by the firefight in Lamitan City, Basilan province.
The relief goods, which were transported aboard a wooden-hulled ferry, include 3,000 food pack, 100 hygiene kits, 100 sleeping materials and medicines.
Amir Mawallil, Armm Bureau of Public Information executive director, said the relief goods are provided by Armm and the United National High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR).
Some 954 families were displaced when combined Abu Sayyaf bandits and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) attacked Lamitan City last Thursday and Friday.
Mawallil said the relief goods will be distributed today, Tuesday.
Armed Forces Public Affairs Officer Lieutenant Colonel Ramon Zagala said both attack were repelled by the government forces.
The evacuees are now housed at the Lamitan City National High School and Datu Dizal Cultural Center in the village of Maganda, Lamitan City.
