Police arrest 7 wanted persons-A A +A

AUTHORITIES arrested seven persons, mostly farmers, who are facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9700, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, in the province of Zamboanga del Norte.
The Task Force Manhunt led by Chief Inspector Joseph Maulad identified the arrested suspects as Jerry Butalid, 50; Avelino Igo-Ogan, 57; Rubincio Abadies, 53; Renerio Bahonsua, 58; Iluminado Larato, 52; Wenceslao Tejamo, 63; and, Segundina Refugio, 59.
Maulad, who is also the police chief of Liloy town, said the suspects were arrested around 2 p.m. Thursday in their respective residences.
The warrant of arrest for the suspects was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 8 Judge Oscar Tomarong of Dipolog City for violation of Section 24 (d) of RA 9700 with a recommended bail bond of P12,000 each.
All of the accused were detained at the Liloy Municipal Police Station for proper disposition, Maulad added.
