NGCP sets 3-hour emergency shutdown-A A +A
Wednesday, October 9, 2013
MEMBER-CONSUMERS of Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (Zamcelco) will experience a three-hour brownout on Thursday.
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced that there will be emergency shutdown from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. “affecting parts of Zamcelco franchise area.”
NGCP public affairs officer Elizabeth Ladaga said in a text message Wednesday that the emergency shutdown is implemented to pave way to the corrective maintenance of an optical ground wire along the Zamboanga-Pitogo 138-kilovolt (KV) line 2.
Ladaga said those who will be affected are Zamcelco member-consumers being served by the Zamboanga-Pitogo 138-KV line 2.
Power service may return to normal once the corrective maintenance will be completed but not necessarily following the schedule of the emergency shutdown. (Bong Garcia)
