Plantation worker hurt, wife unscathed-A A +A

A RUBBER plantation worker was wounded while his wife escaped unscathed in a gun attack in a remote village of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Friday.
The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Office (ZSPO) said the incident took place around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Purok Margarita, Barangay San Jose, Imelda town.
Police identified the victims as Noli Surinda, 42, who sustained a bullet wound in the nape. Unscathed was his wife, Myra.
Investigation showed Surinda and his wife were having a conversation when shot five times by the suspect, who positioned himself in a dark area near the couple's residence.
A neighbor of the couple saw a man, clad in black jacket and wearing a bonnet, fled to unknown direction after the incident, the police said.
Investigation continues to establish the motive of the incident and unmask the suspect. (Bong Garcia)
