Guard arrested for firing gun-A A +A

A GOVERNMENT security personnel was arrested for illegal discharge of firearms and possession of unlicensed gun in the the province of Zamboanga del Norte Saturday.
Arrested was Lyndon Dacula, 43, security guard of District Engr. Najib Dilangalin of the Department of Public Works and Highways, Zamboanga del Norte Police Office said.
Investigation showed that Dacula was having a drinking session together with George Campaner at the compound of Zamboanga Del Norte 2nd Engineering District in the village of Osukan, Labason town.
Police said Dacula, without any provocation, took his pistol and fired three times which prompted Campaner to pacify.
The suspect turned his ire to his drinking buddy and poked his gun to the head of Campaner that stemmed a commotion.
Campaner, with the help of other personnel present in the area, was able to disarm Dacula, who was later arrested and detained by policemen of Labason Police Station.
Police confiscated from his possession a caliber .45 pistol with expired license. Also recovered from the crime scene were three fired cartridges and one holster. (Bong Garcia)
