Village chief escapes gun attack-A A +A

A VILLAGE chief escaped unscathed in a gun attack in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur province on Monday.
Zamboanga Peninsula Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca said the incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. at Purok Caimito in the village of Lenienza.
Unscathed in the attack was Lenienza village chief Gaudioso Deñiga, 55.
Investigation showed that Deñiga was watching television in his home when three unidentified gunmen arrived and opened fire.
“Luckily, no one among the house occupants was injured,” Huesca said.
The responding policemen have recovered two empty shells and two slugs of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.
Investigation is underway to identify the suspects who fled aboard a motorcycle without registered plate number. (Bong
