THE Crisis Management Committee (CMC), led by Zamboanga City Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, lifted on Wednesday the temporary suspension of the issuance of Community Tax Certificates (CTCs) and barangay certifications as the peace and order situation in the city is normalizing.
Last September 27, Salazar temporarily suspended the issuance of CTC and barangay certification (cedula) as part of the move against the attempts of rebels involved in the standoff from mixing up with civilians and escape.
The standoff started when hundreds of Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) rebels infiltrated Zamboanga City last September 9 through the shore of Rio Hondo village and nearby villages.
Salazar, however, has ordered the villages officials to properly identify and ensure the persons to be issued CTC and cedula are legitimate residents of their respective places.
The CTC and barangay clearance are often used in applying for job aside from identification purposes as well as requirements in seeking issuance of documents from certain government agencies.
