Thursday, October 24, 2013
THE Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) has received a boost in firepower from the Zamboanga Peninsula Police Regional Office (PRO).
The PRO has turned over on Wednesday 96 Glock 9mm pistols to the ZCPO to be distributed to its personnel who still do not have service firearms.
The ZCPO has 11 police stations and a public safety company under its jurisdiction.
PRO logistics chief Senior Superintendent Edwin de Ocampo said the additional firearms came from the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters as part of the logistic support to the ZCPO.
De Ocampo said the objective of the distribution of handguns by the PNP is aimed to help the local police forces in the maintenance of peace and order in their locality. (Bong Garcia)
