TWO village officials and their families were unscathed in separate gun attacks in the province of Zambonga del Sur, the police reported.
Unscathed were the families of Rey Prospero and Bonifacio Daguman, both village councilman, said Zamboanga Peninsula police information officer Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca.
Huesca said Prospero is a village councilman in Sta. Lucia, Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur, while Daguman is of Naboran, Labangan municipality in the same province.
He said Prospero and his family were asleep inside their house when unidentified gunmen aboard three motorcycles arrived around 10 p.m. Friday and opened fire. The suspects immediately fled the scene.
None of the occupants of the house was hit, Huesca said.
The attack did not also cause damage except for eight bullet holes on the walls, Huesca said, adding that responding policemen recovered three metal slugs from the crime scene.
On the other hand, Daguman and his family were also asleep when gunmen strafed their residence around 11 p.m.
Like in the first incident, no one among the occupants of the house was hit during the attack.
Both incidents are being investigated, said Huesca.
