A 21-YEAR-OLD housewife and her four-month old daughter have survived in a gun attack although wounded in the hinterlands of Zamboanga del Norte province.
The Zamboanga del Norte Police Office (ZDNPO) reported that the incident took place around 2 p.m. Monday at Sitio Binalete in the village of Mamawan, Gutalac town.
The police identified the victim as Laila Taustumban while the identity of her four-month old daughter was withheld.
They were allegedly shot by Richard Tomalitis, a resident of Mamawan village, who is now at large, the police said.
Investigation showed that Taustumban was walking along the road while carrying her daughter when shot by the suspect with a shotgun, the police said.
The victims were rushed to the Labason District Hospital for treatment.
The motive of the incident could be vengeance since the suspect was shot by the victims’ relatives almost a year ago, the police said. Bong Garcia)
