FIVE gunmen have held up and robbed more than half-a-million-pesos from a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) establishment in Zamboanga City.
Chief Inspector Felixberto Martinez, chief of the local police’ Criminal Investigation and Detection Management (CIDM), said the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. Monday at A.L. Gonzales and Sons along Veterans Avenue, this city.
The A.L. Gonzales and Sons, a company that distributes LPG in the city, is owned by Lawyer Arsenio Gonzales, Jr.
Martinez said the suspects, who pretended to be customers, entered the establishment and disarmed the security guard before declaring the heist.
One of the gunmen directly went to the cashier and at gunpoint took more or less P500,000, which are part of the sales of the A.L. Gonzales and Sons and its retail outlets.
Martinez said the money was supposed to be deposited to a local bank when the suspects barged in.
The suspects fled aboard two motorcycles towards the east coast.
Investigation continues to identify the suspects.
