POLICE are conducting a thorough investigation to identify the gunmen behind a gun attack that killed two young girls in Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur.

The Zamboanga del Sur Police Office (ZDSPO) reported that the incident took place around 11:30 p.m. Saturday along the road of Bulatok village, Pagadian City.

The police identified the victims as Manilyn Besirel, 14, and a certain Mar-Mar, 18, both of whom sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot.

The police said a resident has told the officer-in-charge of the case that they just heard burst of gunfire while he and his family were watching television.

When they verified, the police said they saw the two young lasses lying beside the road, and they reported immediately to the police authorities.

The police have recovered 11 empty shells of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

All possible motives as well as the background of the victims are being checked to identify the suspects, the police said. (Bong Garcia)
