ZAMBOANGA City Representative Lilia Macrohon-Nuño is pushing for the construction of 11 farm-to-market-roads (FMR) in a bid to increase productivity and hasten the delivery of farm product to the market.

Nuño said she has requested Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala to allocate P22 million for the implementation of the projects.

She said the project costs a total of P22 million, with P2 million each.

She said that City Agriculturist Diosdado Palacat identified the FMR projects as vital for the agriculture sector in this city’s east coast.

The FMR projects are for Sitio Gapuh, Talabaan village; Calle Real extension, Mercedes village; Barangay Tigbalabag; Sitio Imelda-Pangulayan, Barangay Tolosa; Sitio Dugan Hoa, Barangay Lunzuran; Sitio Sapa Pungkul, Barangay Tictapul; Barangay Lubigan; Barangay Sangali; Barangay Muti; Barangay Panubigan; and, Sitio Lower Tigbao-Stitio Talaga, Barangay Licomo.

Nuño said she is also meeting with the village chairmen in her district to determine what are the projects they to source out funds from the concerned agencies of government.

Nuño’s district covers 61 of Zamboanga City’s 98 barangays which are located in the east coast.
