POLICE have arrested anew a suspected drug pusher in an entrapment at an evacuation center in Zamboanga City, an official said.
Latest to be arrested was Aminkadra Samain, 41, an evacuee and a resident of Sta. Catalina village, according to Zamboanga Peninsula police information officer Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca.
Huesca said Samain was arrested around 5 p.m. Monday in by combined elements of the Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force (AIDSOTF) and Zamboanga City Public Safety Company (ZCPSC) at the sports complex along R.T. Lim Boulevard.
Confiscated from the suspect’s possession were two small-size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and P200 “marked money,” Huesca said.
Almost two weeks ago, police have arrested three women engaged in illegal drugs trade and seized some P20,000 worth of shabu near Joaquin Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex, the biggest evacuation center in the city.
They were arrested just after they received a delivery of shabu.
The operation was carried out after the police have strengthened its watch against the proliferation of prohibited drugs at the evacuation centers, particularly at the sports complex. (Bong Garcia)
