FIVE gunmen held-up and robbed an inter-provincial passenger bus along a national highway in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Tuesday.
The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Office (ZSPO) reported the incident took place around 12:20 a.m. Monday along the highway in the village of Tenan, Ipil municipality.
The police said the passenger bus of the Rural Mindanao Transit Incorporated (RTMI) with body number 9354 was traveling to Zamboanga City coming from Pagadian City when five unidentified persons armed with handguns declared the hold-up.
Investigation showed that the suspects, who pretended to be passengers, boarded the bus when it made a brief stopover at the bus terminal of Kabasalan town, Zamboanga Sibugay.
The suspects forcibly took the personal belongings of the passengers as well as P50,000 cash money, which is part of the bus collections, the police said.
The suspects immediately disembarked from the bus and fled under cover of darkness bringing with them the loot, the police said.
