A FARMER was killed while four others, including three children, were wounded in a gun attack during a Christmas party of a women's organization in Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Sunday.
The incident took place on Saturday in the village hall of Lapidian, Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur province.
Killed on the spot was Ronald Nonol, 29, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, the police said.
Wounded were Alexes Legonas, 32; Mervin Yagonia, 13; Arlyn Seraspi, 9; and Angela Princess Legonas, 6.
Investigation showed that the victims were dancing when a man armed with a caliber .45 pistol appeared and opened fire, fatally hitting Nonol and injuring four others.
The man, who remained unidentified, fled by blending into the party attendees who panicked and run toward different directions, the police said.
Seven empty shells and three metal slugs of caliber .45 pistol were recovered at the crime scene, the police added. (Bong Garcia)
