ANOTHER Chinese national was arrested by the police for illegal sale of firecrackers and pyrotechnic products here in the region, an official reported Monday.
Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, of the Firearms Explosives Security Agency and Guards Section (Fesags), said the suspect, Lichard Che, 28, was arrested in an entrapment Saturday in Zamboanga City.
Huesca said that Che, who manages the Mega Sales Store, was arrested after he sold P3,000 worth of firecrackers and pyrotechnics to an undercover policemen.
The Mega Sales Store is located at the corners of Mayors Ledesma and Jaldon Streets in the village of Zone II, one of the four downtown villages.
The arresting team has confiscated assorted firecracker and pyrotechnic products worth P90,000 at the Mega Sales Store.
Huesca said Che was the second Chinese national to be arrested for illegal sale of firecrackers and pyrotechnics in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
The first arrested Chinese businessman was a certain “Si Baya Chang” who was caught in an entrapment last week at 168 Mega Commercial in downtown Ipil, the capital of Zamboanga Sibugay.
The police have confiscated some P.5 million worth of firecrackers from 168 Mega Commercial, the police added.
