Monday, December 30, 2013
MUZZLES of service firearms of the Zamboanga City police personnel were sealed Monday to ensure that no one among the policemen will indiscriminately fire their guns during the New Year’s Eve revelry.
The sealing of the gun muzzle was simultaneously held with the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) headquarters and the other 10 police stations following the Rizal Day flag raising ceremony in this city.
Police Station 11 chief Diomarie Albarico said the taping of the muzzles is to ensure that no police personnel will indiscriminately fire their guns during the New Year’s Eve revelry.
“It will be easy for us to determine who used their guns during the New Year revelry,” Superintendent Albarico added.
The masking tape used to seal the firearms’ muzzles was signed by the sealing officer to ensure it will not be tampered or changed.
Albarico said the policemen can use or fire their guns as the need arises in the performance of duty.
He said the service firearms will be inspected to check whether the policemen have fired their guns.
He said administrative and criminal case will be slapped against any policemen found to have indiscriminately fired their service firearms. (Bong Garcia)
