THE police have arrested six people in an anti-drug operation in an east coast village in Zamboanga City, the police reported.
Arrested were Jojo Cajetano, 33; Abdel Asis Halil, 29; Anhar Ignacio, 27; Pong Hayudini, 31; Jainal Kadil, 19; and Jennlyn Bakil, 30.
The police said the suspects were arrested around 4:30 p.m. Friday at the residence of Cajetano in the village of Kasanyangan after they allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P300 to an undercover policeman.
The anti-drug operation was carried out by the operatives from the Police Station 11 and Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) following surveillance on the illegal activity at the house of Cajetano, the police added.
Confiscated from the suspects’ possession were three pieces of “marked” P100 bills used in the buy-bust operation, five heat-sealed transparent sachets containing white crystalline substance/granule believed to be “shabu” and other prohibited drug paraphernalia, the police said.
The suspects were detained at the headquarters of the Police Station 11 while confiscated suspected Shabu was forwarded to Regional Crime Laboratory Office for examination in preparation for the filing of appropriate charges against them, the police added. (Bong Garcia)
