2 militia wounded in clash

TWO members of the militia force were wounded when government forces clashed with a group of suspected Abu Sayyaf bandits in the province of Sulu, the police said Monday.

Wounded were Niko Minuddin and Sabor Sasapan, both members of the Barangay Peace Action Team (BPAT) in the village of Mabahay, Talipao, Sulu.

Minudding sustained injuries in both legs while Sasapang in the abdomen, the police said.

They were airlifted to this city and admitted in one of the hospitals in Zamboanga City, according to the report of the Police Station 11.

Investigation showed that the victims were injured when troops from the 2nd Marine Brigade clashed with suspected Abu Sayyaf bandits around 4 p.m. Saturday in Mabahay, Talipao town.
