THE local police have filed charges against four people arrested in an anti-drug campaign in Zamboanga City, an official said Wednesday.

Charged before the City Prosecutor’s Office for violation of Republic 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, were Bernie Albani, 47; Ronald Manubis, 41; Mohammad Nori, 22; and, Gilbert Galano, 45, all residents of Purok 1B in the village of Recodo, 15 kilometers west of the city.

Police Station 9 commander Senior Inspector Edilberto Alvarez said that the charges against the suspects were filed Monday.

Alvarez said the accused were arrested in a buy-bust operation last Saturday afternoon at Purok 1B in the village of Recodo.

He said they have confiscated from the suspects’ possession four small-sized heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu.

The suspects remain in detention at the Police Station 9 headquarters after they signed 15 days waiver, he added. (Bong Garcia)
