JOINT operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Special Action Force (SAF) have arrested two suspected drug pushers and seized P325,000 worth of shabu in a raid in Basilan, an official said.
PDEA-Zamboanga Peninsula Director Jeffrey Bangsa said the raid was carried out Thursday at Sitio Tinambakan in Barangay Maganda, Lamitan City, Basilan.
Bangsa identified the arrested suspects as Ambri Arabain and Madz Omar.
He said the joint operatives, armed with a warrant from the court, swooped down the residence of Arabain in Sitio Tinambakan and arrested the two suspects.
Authorities in Basilan have said that Sitio Tinambakan is known to be a prohibited drugs trading place in Lamitan City.
Bangsa said the raiding team confiscated 17 plastic sachets of suspected shabu, prohibited drug paraphernalia, and a caliber .45 pistol with ammunition.
He said the suspects were brought Thursday afternoon to the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceeding for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
