Friday, March 21, 2014
DEPARTMENT of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial Director Rolando Acuña announced they will install information boards in selected villages to keep the people informed about the programs of the agency.
Acuña said the information boards named as “Barangay DTI Corner” will be installed in at least 10 villages -- five in the east coast and five in the west coast.
These areas include: Sta. Maria, San Jose Gusu, Recodo, Ayala and Labuan in the west coast; and Curuan, Guiwan, Divisoria, Sangali, and Vitali in the east coast.
Acuña said the project will be implemented in coordination with the officials of the 10 villages and the organized consumer groups.
Acuña said the objective of the project is to serve as an avenue for the consumers to learn about the different programs of the DTI with regard consumerism as well as other functions and updates of the office, thereby making them well informed, educated and vigilant consumers.
He said it is also aimed to sustain the DTI’s partnership with the village officials in its program of consumer welfare, thereby heightening the DTI’s presence in the villages. (Bong Garcia)
