200 students to benefit from internship program

DEPARTMENT of Labor and Employment (Dole) officer Ian Lahi said a total of 200 high school graduates in Zamboanga City will benefit from Dole’s Government Internship Program (GIP) this year.

Dole has allocated P7 million for the implementation of the internship program this year.

Lahi said that 100 of the 200 beneficiary-students will come from the first district of Zamboanga City, while the other 100 from the second district.

Lahi said the students will work for a period of six months starting next month, April.

Each of students, who will be employed, will receive a salary of P210 daily.

The Government Internship Program aims to provide opportunities for young workers to serve the public through the projects and services of government agencies and offices at both local and national level. (Bong Garcia)
