Explosion rocks Lamitan

A GRENADE explosion has rocked Lamitan City in the nearby province of Basilan, the police reported Wednesday.

Lamitan City police chief Almer Ismael said the incident took place around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday at Sitio Tinambakan in the village of Maganda.

Ismael said that no one was killed or injured in the blast that happened at the residential compound of Rose Tauto along Iman Uto Street.

Ismael said the Tauto family was inside their house when the grenade exploded. The grenade was believed to have been tossed from outside.

The police have recovered pieces of fragmentation grenade at the crime scene.
