A SON of a businessman who was abducted last week in Zamboanga del Norte has been released by his abductors, a police official said Monday.
Zamboanga City police officer-in-charge Senior Superintendent Angelito Casimiro said Michael Kho was freed around 6 a.m. Sunday in the village of Labuan, 36 kilometers west of this city.
Casimiro said that Kho, 27, was recovered by his relatives and was rushed to one of the hospitals in this city.
Kho has a slight injury in the chin, the police official said.
Kho’s father, Allan, owns and manages a gasoline station in the village of Poblacion, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
The victim was at the family-owned gasoline station when six gunmen arrived and seized him in the evening of April 1.
Casimiro said that the victim was freed through the joint efforts of the victim’s family and the Anti-Kidnapping Group.
The authorities have filed charges for kidnapping and serious illegal detention against eight people tagged as responsible in the kidnapping of Kho before a Court in Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
One of the suspects was arrested last week while the rest remain at large, the police said.
