THE government authorities have arrested three suspected drug pushers in its continued campaign against the trade of prohibited drugs in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported.
Zamboanga del Sur police director Senior Superintendent Sofronio Ecaldre identified the arrested suspects as Omar Pakil alias Umla, 56, Michael Pactol, 24, and Daniel Balucan, 23.
Ecaldre said Pakil was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 2:40 p.m. Saturday at Purok San Miguel in the village of Marcos, San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur.
Ecaldre said the arresting team of policemen confiscated from the suspect’s possession two heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu and P1,000 marked money, and other prohibited drug paraphernalia.
Pactol and Balucan were also arrested around 3 p.m. Saturday along the national highway in the village of Anonang, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, said Ecaldre.
He said the policemen manning a checkpoint noted Pactol have thrown a folded paper while he and Balucan, riding in tandem in a motorcycle, were approaching the checkpoint coming from Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte.
He said the two were arrested after it was discovered that the folded paper contained three heat-sealed plastic sachet of shabu.
All of the three arrested suspects were detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them, he said.
