Sunday, May 11, 2014
A TOTAL of 415 residents from far-flung villages have been served as the Zamboanga City Civil Registrar (CCR) extended its services to the remote areas during the first quarter of this year.
This was made possible as the CCR headed by lawyer Alexander Elias joined the service caravan of the Dia de Alcalde (Mayor’s Day) series for the first quarter of 2014.
The Dia de Alcalde is a service-oriented caravan dedicated towards bringing frontline government services in the community.
It is conducted during barangay fiesta celebrations as part of Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar administration’s priority thrusts on Security, Health, and Education.
Elias said the 415 individuals served by his office in the remote areas are residents of La Paz, Malagutay and Pamucutan in the west coast and Bunguiao, Lunzuran and Tolosa in the east coast.
Elias said the services rendered by his were as follows: mobile mass registration of birth; issuance of birth certificates/certification; and, the provision of information on other registration services and procedures.
Elias said his office will continue to provide services in succeeding Dia de Alcalde celebrations, in a bid to facilitate civil registrations, and strengthen the people’s awareness of civil documents. (Bong Garcia)
