LTO reactivates ‘Oplan Balik Eskwela’

THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) has reactivated the “Operations Plan (Oplan) Balik Eskwela” as the agency readies for the opening of school year 2014-2015.

LTO Regional Director Aminola Abaton said they will deploy personnel in key areas of the region to assist in the management of traffic to ensure smooth flow of vehicles from and to the schools.

Abaton said it is expected there will be an increase in the volume of traffic as thousands of students will return to schools in the different parts of the region ones classes open next month.

The LTO personnel will be deployed made in coordination with the police as well as traffic enforcers of the different local government units, Abaton said.

He said they will also initiate road safety measures to ensure the safe travel of parents and students in going to the schools. (Bong Garcia)
