A TOP health official has advised the local residents to keep themselves hydrated to avoid from suffering heatstroke.

Zamboanga City Health Officer Dr. Rodelin Agbulos issued the advice following observations that the country has experienced hot weather the past few days with temperature reaching more than 35 Degrees Celsius.

Agbulos said one way to keep hydrated is to drink more water.

Agbulos said the public must also avoid long and direct exposure to sunlight and if possible is to use umbrella and hat to protect them from the heat of the sun.

Agbulos dispelled rumors that there were two heatstroke recorded fatalities in this city.

He said what they have registered was a case of cardiac arrest and not heatstroke as claimed by the relatives of the deceased.
