TWO teenagers were wounded in a gun attack in an east coast village in Zamboanga City, the police reported Thursday.

Local police spokesman Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca said the incident took place around 1:50 a.m. Thursday at Sitio Nazareth in the village of Culianan, 13 kilometers east of the city.

Huesca identified the victims as Maryjoy Tejano, 17, and her younger sister, Jessabel, 14. Both sustained minor injuries.

Huesca said the victims were asleep at the residence of a relative, Baby Grace Usman, when the unidentified gunmen opened fire hitting them.

Responding policemen have recovered four empty shells of M-16 Armalite rifle near the residence, Huesca said.

Investigation continues to establish the motive as well as unmask the suspects, he said.
